The main event of the Sochi tournament is the five round bantamweight (61.2 kg) battle between Grachik Engibaryan and Josh Hill. Grachik Engibaryan (7-3) has won 7 of 10 matches in his professional career. Grachik is an entertaining fighter who is focused on finishing every fight he participates in. After being defeated by Zhuman Zhumabekov in April 2016, Engibaryan continued his career with two consecutive victories by submitting Artem Lobanov and knocking out Paul Marin. Josh Hill (15-2) is a fearsome opponent for any fighter on our planet. The only man who overwhelmed him (twice) is former WSOF champion Marlon “Magic” Moraes. Initially, "Gentleman" was supposed to fight Rasul Mirzaev but the "Black Tiger" had to undergo a surgery on his shoulder and had to be withdrawn from the Sochi tournament. The Canadian fighter is the favorite and Engibaryan has the unique opportunity to put his name in the best of the best and become the number 1 contender for the FIGHT NIGHTS GLOBAL champion title. The factor of importance for Grachik is the place where the fight is held – his native grounds, Krasnodar region. The co-main event at Ice Cube venue will counterpoise lightweight (70.3 kg) Islam Begidov to peter Queally, Conor McGregor’s teammate. Also, FIGHT NIGHTS GLOBAL 72 will please spectators with performances from MMA world champion Magomed Yunusilau and Armenian fans’ favorite Vladimir Egoyan. Maria Agapova and Yulia Kutsenko will meet in the cage for the flyweight Grand-Prix quarter finals fight.
