Kamil Gadzhiev: "You can seriously think about Minakov-Emelianenko fight only when you know this"

In the first part of a big interview, FIGHT NIGHTS GLOBAL president Kamil Gadzhiev has summed up the results of FNG 82 and spoke about future plans for Vitaly Minakov:

- Kamil, what emotions do you have after the final tournament of 2017? Was it not only the last of this year but also the one with the best fights, the most famous names and intense drama?
- This tournament was very significant. I didn’t feel a sensation of pleasure from the main fight of the night, I expected much more from Tony Johnson. But overall, I was very pleased with the card, there were many good and fundamental fights. By the way, we harvested plenty of food for thought at the end of this gig for our future work. The tournament had a large attendance; we were able to work with partners, which is a big thing; and most importantly - the audience was satisfied. The TV broadcast had both quality and reach. Everything we wanted to have on that event - we had it. I am very glad!
- Vitaly Minakov has landed a confident win again but as we understand he is not to intervene in the title race but will focus on the so-called "big fights." Is Sergei Kharitonov the next big fight? And are there any other names that may be of interest to Vitaly? Aleksander Emelianenko maybe?
- I do not have the 100% confidence that Vitaly Minakov vs. Sergei Kharitonov will happen... This fight is being discussed again, but I have a feeling that Kharitonov has other plans. As for Aleksander Emelianenko, Sasha is back for real! But we need to understand what his plan is like. You can seriously think about Minakov-Emelianenko fight only when you know this. And you shouldn’t forget the fact that Aleksander is under a contract with another promoter.
